1. Purpose Had Al-Kifaya

• Limit Al-Kifaya means "Lines minimum requirement for the basic needs of individuals and their dependents based on the cost of living." In the context of the state, Al-Kifaya limit refers to a level of minimum basic needs of a household set by Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Melayu Terengganu (MAIDAM) based on field studies on the cost of living in the state.

2. The basic requirements that need to be taken into consideration in determining the limit of Al-Kifaya:

    a. Protection / residence 
    b. Eating and drinking 
    c. Apparel 
    d. Medical 
    e. Education 
    f. transport

3. Things to consider in the determination of al-Kifaya Limit

    a. Information heads of household (HOH) 
    b. Info household members / total liabilities (AIR) 
    c. Income husband / KIR 
    d. Income wife 
    e. Other income (Provision of child / Help JKM / rental etc.)

5. The method of calculating the limit of Al-Kifaya:

In calculating Had Al-Kifaya gross income of the husband and wife will be rejected with the basic needs of Household Members (AIR) for the total remaining balance of the total revenues. If negative it is likely someone will be entitled to receive zakat, however, there are seven (7) other aspect that should be taken into consideration to qualify a person approved an aid of charity. Conversely, if the surplus of the total income, the person is generally not entitled to receive zakat. 


Example: 


i. RM1,200.00 - RM1,500.00 = -RM300.00 (WORTH THANK) 


ii. RM1,500.00 - RM1,200.00 = + 300.00 (NOT WORTH IT)
